Solar

We're glad that you are considering Solar Energy for your home or business!

Types of Solar

Solar Electric Systems, or photovoltaic, produce electricity.

Solar Thermal Systems provide heat for hot water or space heating. We design and install both types.

Why Solar?

People decide to go solar for a variety of reasons. Solar energy is environmentally sound, it is a renewable source of energy that helps us reduce our carbon emissions, pollution and preserve our finite supply of fossil fuels. It is a major weapon in our battle against climate change. It provides jobs and economic development for this country as it brings us closer to energy independence and security. It is also a sound investment and provides protection against rising energy costs while increasing your property value.

Is there enough sun in New England for solar?

There is enough sun in New England to successfully use solar energy. In fact, there are very few places in the United States in which solar energy isn't viable. To view a National Renewable Energy Lab. solar map of the U.S. click here...

Is there enough sun for your home or business to use solar?

It depends on orientation and shading. Ideally, the site has Southern exposure and no obstacles or shading. Don't worry if your site is not ideal, very few are! You can get a rough idea by noting the orientation and observing the hours of sunlight that the roof or area is exposed to. Also check for tall trees or other structures that may be casting shadows. We would be happy to take a look and provide you with an analysis that will tell you exactly weather or not you have a good solar site. Give us a call to get started. 800-653-4270.

How much does a solar system cost?

Before rebates and incentives, a typical residential solar electric system costs between $30,000-50,000. A solar thermal system costs between $8,000-12,000O. Of course there are many variables involved in determining cost and rebates and incentives need to be determined on a case-by-case basis. We would be happy to give you an estimate which includes detailed information on payback periods and incentives. 800-653-4270.
